There are three stages to decorating for fall in our house: pre-October, Halloween and Thanksgiving.  Pre-October—the days between the beginning of autumn and October 1st—and Thanksgiving have similar décor, with just a few minor changes.  And then there’s Halloween, my favorite holiday!

halloween outside

This year I wanted to get a feel for our neighborhood before going LOCO decorating outside.  Good thing is my neighbors are crazy Halloween decorators so I will step it up next year!  For now, I just added some lit up pumpkins and some lights around the front door.  Simple!

Inside the house I sprinkled in some Halloween-themed décor that would go well with everything we already have.  I wanted the flow to be the same and the Halloween touches to just be there instead of being crazy.  Maybe I’ll step that up next year, too.  Below are some photos. Hope you likie. 😉

Adding touches in unexpected places will make your guests get in the mood for Halloween.
