DINING ROOM GALLERY & PROGRESS PHOTOS

I think it’s safe to say that our dining room is almost complete.  Yes!  Almost COMPLETE.  It has taken us a year and four months to get here, but we got here and boy did it taught me a lot.

MASTER BEDROOM PROGRESS: PHOTOS AND PLANS

bedroom

When you have a golden retriever, nothing says, “yes, I sleep really well” like a king size bed.  This was a lesson that took us three years to learn.  But we learned it!  Now on to a little confession: our master bedroom has been given 0 love since we moved in.  It wasn’t until last month that we decided to give our “love nest” some attention, which is what prompted me to give a progress report.

INEXPENSIVE FRONT YARD MAKEOVER & TIPS

house

Hello there!  Don’t know if you’ve looked outside, but it is spring.  Funny enough we had no winter here in Nashville!  The weather went from feeling like late autumn to feeling like late spring, which is why we gave the front of our house some lovin’ with an inexpensive makeover before it got too hot out.

MINI KITCHEN MAKEOVER

Hello there!  Yes, it’s been a while.  It has also been a crazy year giving me no time to post, which is why I will start with an apology and then follow up by letting you know that our kitchen is almost done!  After living in our house for one year, I finally decided to tackle the kitchen makeover and I’m really happy with how it turned out.

Hello friends!  Can you believe it’s December?!  What an incredible year this has been and I can’t wait to start celebrating the Holidays with our families.  The celebration actually started in our home with Friendsgiving.  It’s quickly become one of my favorites because it kicks off a month full of celebrations.  My husband and I are both December babies so the gatherings don’t stop until after New Year’s. CHRISTMAS DÉCOR—WORK WITH WHAT YOU HAVE

christmas decorating

I will start this post by admitting that I am a holiday addict.  Doesn’t matter the holiday, I will find a way to celebrate as long as it’s part of my traditions.  Christmas is no different, this year being our first Christmas in our new house!  I was hoping to go crazy with the décor, but it seemed like a lot of work.  Guess we’ll leave that for 2017.

STYLING NOVEMBER

dog

And just like that… it’s November.  How did we get here so fast?  It feels like yesterday was April and flowers were blooming.  Now all the leaves are falling and it’s getting colder by the second.  Time really does fly when you’re over 30.  I mean, 20.  😉

This month is super exciting because we get to host Friendsgiving (yearly tradish) for the first time in our new home!  It’s the only reason I don’t decorate for Christmas until after.  But how do you decorate for that time between Halloween and Christmas?  Easy… leave the pumpkins and fall décor, and take out the Halloween accessories.  Violà!  Scroll down to check out some small changes I made, including adding that beautiful wool throw we picked up while in Iceland.  Enjoy!

HOW TO DO A DATE NIGHT IN

date night in

When it comes to relationships, one of the biggest misconceptions is that you must leave the house in order to have a date.  Well my friends I’m here to tell you that you’ve been lied to.  When your partner travels a lot, anything can count as a date and we’ve been doing this since the beginning of our relationship!

SIMPLE HALLOWEEN DECORATIONS

There are three stages to decorating for fall in our house: pre-October, Halloween and Thanksgiving.  Pre-October—the days between the beginning of autumn and October 1st—and Thanksgiving have similar décor, with just a few minor changes.  And then there’s Halloween, my favorite holiday!
